A friend recently told me : “You find the beauty in everything.”
If you know me well, you’ve probably seen me stop in a middle of a conversation, stare at something and get lost in my thoughts. These are the moments when something beautiful catches my eye. It can be the perfect shape, balance, composition, texture, light or color combination.
I’m convinced that you can find beauty in everything around you, it’s all a matter of perspective. Unfortunately in today’s world, we are fed ideas, concepts and images, pressured to like them and conform to them. As a result, some people tend to forget why they like something, other than because everyone around them does. This applies to design, music, fashion, movies, food and much more.
Wherever you are right now, STOP. Stare right in front of you, past your computer or phone screen. I challenge you to find beauty or anything that moves you, in what you are looking.
I had a beige wall in front of me. I stared at it, got lost in my thoughts and got transported to a dry salted lake. What did you discover? What did you feel? Where did you go?
Beauty is all around us. Take the time to stop and look further or closer. You will see it and it will make you smile.
